Artist Biography
Lilly Brown is pursuing her BFA in Studio Arts at the University of Montana. She was born and raised in Bozeman, Montana. Since childhood, she has used drawing and painting as a way to connect with others, first sharing her work with classmates and teachers and now developing a professional body of work that reflects her inner world and invites connection.
Lilly’s practice centers on emotional resonance, each piece acts as a reflection of the moment it was created, offering viewers an opportunity to feel seen or understood. Her work blends personal introspection with universal themes, creating space for viewers to interpret and engage on their own terms.
In 2024, Lilly studied abroad in Florence, Italy, where she immersed herself in classical painting techniques and refined her skills in oil painting. That experience deepened her appreciation for the expressive power of oil paint and its ability to create atmosphere, magic, and depth.
Her current series focuses on the shifting light and shadows. Through an abstract lens, she explores the emotional weight of fleeting moments and the quiet beauty of familiar places. Each piece captures a specific time and place, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the present moment, however transient.
Lilly Brown has shown her work at Bozeman Art Walk 2025, University of Montana’s Knowles Gallery 2025, University of Montana's Student Juried Show 2025.
